ABOUT US

We are working climbers. This means we make our livings within the climbing world, running trips to the worlds most interesting places. It probably is the best job there is.

We started in 2009, as an adjunct to climbing in Central Asia, finding a culture of climbing in Japan that is unique and strong. Multiple seasons climbing across the country, with some of Japan’s best climbers and on some of its greatest routes, has given us a perspective that informs our aesthetics and ideas, flowing between here and the Himalayas, finding the best of both.

We think climbing can do good in the world, in ways that tourism cannot, avoiding the over-exposure that destroys places. Our trips we go to the more obscure and more ‘real’ areas, travelling with a small footprint that is independent and fast.

Japan speaks for itself as a destination, not following the rules of any other place, so we align with this as an ethic and standard to work by. Our objective is good climbing above all else, for climbers to progress and expand their abilities, so climbing can take them beyond what the commercialization of the sport has become.
